The Ministry of Health’s Disability Support Services group (DSS) has developed a four-year Strategic Plan for the period July 2010 to June 2014. This plan sets out the priorities for the strategic direction of the group, along with a framework for establishing annual plans.
Included in the Strategic Plan is DSS’s vision of disability support services that help ensure disabled people can live in their home and take part in their community in the same way other New Zealanders do.
This vision evolved from the New Zealand Disability Strategy, which aims for a fully inclusive society, plus conversations with disabled people, their Whānau and carers across New Zealand.
