This report was developed to help identify narratives and trends, over the last decade, of Pacific broadcasting history, and opportunities for Pacific audiences; providing some indication of what programming and funding may be most beneficial to Pacific communities. The report does not contain recommendations, it is a research exercise to identify gaps in existing information in order to assist NZ On Air in responding to some of the challenges, as well the opportunities, presented by the current environment. The research was finalised in January 2012 and was undertaken in three ways - a literature review, structured meetings with Pacific communities in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and an online survey.
